It was so wonderful and then I remembered what we're celebrating - me getting old. Ugh. Here's to another year older!
I seem to remember (and document) the big events in our lives - birthdays, holidays, job changes... But what I want to remember is the little things - the way David and I hold hands, the way Karsten looks with his hands behind his head without a care in the world, Skyla's giggle, and Sierra's ability to block the world when she's reading. So here's to what I want to remember the most... the little moments of our lives that equal a much bigger picture.

Not everybody deserves to be this spoiled, but you are one of those people who have definitely earned the privilege through your years of friendship and love! Getting older is not so bad when it means the old friendships get deeper and more solid. After we got off the phone yesterday I went to the library to get a Frommer's Alaska. I got so excited reading about all the great hikes and canoe rides, and now to see your gorgeous photos... summer just can not come fast enough. I read about the Mayor's Marathon (and Half Marathon) in Anchorage on the summer solstice and it sounded so fun! What say you?
