What WE'VE been doing...

What HE'S been doing...

David has one month until he has to take the Alaska bar. He's remembered how much fun studying is...

We just got back from a fun-filled couple of weeks in Utah. It was wonderful making memories with grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins. But we missed David. And I think he would have preferred being with us. :)

Hari Hari Hari Krishna

This beautiful Hari Krishna temple is only minutes away from my parents house in Utah. I've always been curious about it and intrigued about these people's beliefs as well as amazed that there is a temple in Utah! Well, my uncle has connections (which you don't need, but it was cool to say that) and we got to go eat at the vegetarian cafe and take a tour this place. The kids had a great time learning about why the Hari Krishnas are vegetarians, who (what?) is Krishna, why there are blue men in their paintings, etc.

We even got to do some chanting. And Skyla has a new favorite animal that she immediately called David to see if we could have one as a pet...
(Which for the record, did you know that llamas spit? Unfortunately I know this from personal experience and there must be something offensive about me to llamas because this has
happened more than once. Not pleasant. Especially since after we went to the temple, we went to the airport to come home. Lovely llama spit in my hair all day...)

Thanks Uncle Boyd for a fun out-of-the ordinary Utah adventure!

2010

Pronounced "Twenty ten", not "two thousand and ten", according to my mom. :)We had so much fun bringing in the new year with my parents. Nana and Papa know how to Par-tay! We played games and watched movies and had super yummy food. I glanced at the clock and it was almost 11 so we quickly scrambled getting everything ready (including changing the clocks to reflect an hour later so my kids would be tricked) to bring in the new year at 11. Then we proceeded to play and talk and didn't get to bed until after midnight anyway. We could've just celebrated at 12! Oh well.

One cool thing about being at my parent's house is that the elves come visit on New Year's! If you leave out your stocking, they will fill it if you've taken care of your new toys. My kids were thrilled with this tradition and wondered why they haven't come to OUR house before...
