Ordinary History

I can't let this day go without commenting on how we are alive on one of the biggest days in modern history. This day will be talked about for generations to come, and here I am! And yet what an ordinary day. I took my kids to school, played at the park with Karsten, made dinner, and folded some laundry. Yet this day is historic! I started panicing thinking what can I do to commemorate this day! Should I make a flag cake? Should we color Obama pictures? The more I thought about it, I realized I like the "ordinariness" of today. We are doing the same things we do any other Tuesday, yet today is different. Important. Historic. It's the way change should begin, quietly.
It may have been ordinary, but I'll remember.

I agree it is historic. I'm optimistic he will do a good job! (I just don't want him to sign the FOC!)

I felt very similar that day. Even though I didn't do anything different, I FELT different. So neat!
