I seem to remember (and document) the big events in our lives - birthdays, holidays, job changes... But what I want to remember is the little things - the way David and I hold hands, the way Karsten looks with his hands behind his head without a care in the world, Skyla's giggle, and Sierra's ability to block the world when she's reading. So here's to what I want to remember the most... the little moments of our lives that equal a much bigger picture.

Morning Miracle
Conversation that followed:
K. "Mom, I made my bed!"
Me "Wow Karsten! That looks so great! I bet that was hard work!"
K. "Yeah. It was. I'm a little bit sweaty."
Can you believe Karsten made his own bed all on his own?! And I LOVE the fact that he loves to have a clean room. He cleans it all the time.
Binky Baby
Sorry Max! I owe you one!

Happiness is kayaking in Monterey
him kayaking in the Monterey Bay. I so desparately wanted to go but alas, I had just had a baby the week before. (I went into labor with Skyla on his first day at work. He had to leave his lunch before dessert was served which is still a sore spot with him...) Kayaking in Monterey Bay?! What could be cooler? Well, this year David has been working with the summer program so he has some pull and he had them go kayaking in Monterey - just so I could have a chance to do it! That's the kind of guy I married. :) Not only that, but we got to have dinner at the Monterey Aquarium and stay at the Hyatt that night. At dinner we sat by the octopus tank. Turns out octopuses are noctural so instead of him hiding in the corner like we've seen in the past, we had quite a show.

There were several rafts of sea otters and we even had a few harbor seals poke their head out at us. One was sleeping wrapped up in seaweek and we almost ran into it! It was so amazing. Kayaking is my new favorite hobby that I never get to do. :) I wish I had a picture of us, but I didn't dare bring my camera because I just knew I'd tip my kayak and my camera would end up on the bottem of the bay... This picture is actually of us last yea
actually of us last yea r at Sausalito.

So this perfect weekend could not have happened without two great friends who took Karsten for me. Thanks Karen and Kendra! I owe you big time!!!

My Pity Party
ere I am with a hurt knee and a cough that won't go away. I'm trying to stay positive and refuse to be defeated by my own body, but it just feels like 26.2 miles is plenty hard to run without these other obstacles...

What the...
So as you can tell by my non-blogging, I'm adjusting to having three kids at home again. The girls are out of school and it has been non-stop! Non-stop activities, non-stop friends, non-stop noise, and non-stop action. I'm not complaining because it's a good non-stop. I love that I get to have more time with my cute girls that are getting way too old! We are enjoying summer to the fullest!
But I am having a hard time (not) blogging. I miss it!
