I seem to remember (and document) the big events in our lives - birthdays, holidays, job changes... But what I want to remember is the little things - the way David and I hold hands, the way Karsten looks with his hands behind his head without a care in the world, Skyla's giggle, and Sierra's ability to block the world when she's reading. So here's to what I want to remember the most... the little moments of our lives that equal a much bigger picture.

Independence
At the tender age of 10, Sierra has decided to move out of the house ... and into the cottage! We've been working hard and her room is finally done. It turned out so cute and definitely looks like her! (She was tired of the pink decor that I had thrust upon them since they were little. Lucky for me that's still Skyla's favorite color!)
The first night the girls slept by themselves (Skyla is thrilled to have her own room now as well!) they both commented on how wonderfully they slept without their sister blah blah talking all night keeping them up. It was so funny.
So now the girls will have to CHOOSE when they want to be together and I think this is going to do wonders for their relationship.

Wow! You and David get the "best parents" award and Sierra definitely gets the "bravest 10year old award." I don't think N has it in her. I can't wait to see where that independent spirit takes Sierra as she gets older...
That is breathtaking!!! How awesome for Sierra! I want to see a picture of the outside.
That green is the color I put in my girls' room. :) Now they've switched bedrooms with their brothers, Mabel wanted pink or yellow for her new room, so I made the tiebreaker vote for pink. And I like it.
The new room looks great.
I am so glad it's working out to your benefit! But now my girls are trying to figure out how they can get their own rooms...
Oh my gosh, love it.
