I seem to remember (and document) the big events in our lives - birthdays, holidays, job changes... But what I want to remember is the little things - the way David and I hold hands, the way Karsten looks with his hands behind his head without a care in the world, Skyla's giggle, and Sierra's ability to block the world when she's reading. So here's to what I want to remember the most... the little moments of our lives that equal a much bigger picture.

You gotta fight for your right...
Whether you agree or disagree with gay marriage, isn't it wonderful that opinions can be expressed in this country? We happened upon this huge protest in front of city hall in San Francisco the afternoon the California Supreme Court released it's decision upholding Prop 8. I love that we got to see this piece of history and people fighting for their rights. I think it was a little jarring for my mother-in-law who was visiting from Utah, but maybe that was good. It's important when voting on issues to know and maybe physically see who is being affected by what we're voting on.

We were there too! My girls were holding a sign that said "You gotta give 'em hope! We are future voters and we have hope!" They colored rainbows and peace signs all over it and lots of grateful people stopped to talk to them and take their picture. On the way there and home, the girls and I talked about not being afraid to stand up to injustices and I hope it is something that stays with them forever! I do love my city!
