I seem to remember (and document) the big events in our lives - birthdays, holidays, job changes... But what I want to remember is the little things - the way David and I hold hands, the way Karsten looks with his hands behind his head without a care in the world, Skyla's giggle, and Sierra's ability to block the world when she's reading. So here's to what I want to remember the most... the little moments of our lives that equal a much bigger picture.

Friends
One of the best things about moving back to Alaska is getting to hang out with these two women. I love Debbie and Jacquie! I not only got to hang out with them, I got to hang out with them at a resort for an entire weekend! (Thank you David, David, and Tom!!!!) It was so amazing. We didn't stop talking the entire time. We talked the entire time hiking, the whole time we were swimming and in the hot tub, all through dinner (which we had to wait to get a table even though we were there at 4:30 - there was already a line!!), all through the night even though we thought we'd watch a movie, the whole time driving, all the while shopping... we burned some serious calories just talking! I was so uplifted and felt so empowered and full of parenting ideas after it all. I've really been struggling with some things about my kids (mostly that they are growing up and I am trying to keep them little) and the insights and knowledge that these women were able to give me were so invaluable. I am a new mom today!
Here are some pictures of our fabulous dinner at the Double Musky Inn. Debbie is such a jokester pretending she just got a crouton for dinner. We split my monster steak. It was named the "Best Steak in America" by Jill Cordes of the Food Network. That might explain the wait...

What a fun night! That steak IS HUGE!! I need to go on the crouton diet! :)
Wish I was there with you, I would love to share the steak with you!!
Yeah for new friends!!! Good friends make any move better than it could be so I'm happy you have found ladies to play and laugh hard with!
Girls night is the BEST therapy! Here's to Girls Night!
Are these new friends or friends from when you lived there last? Either way, so glad you have them!
So, a cute new gal moved into our ward, with 2 kids (the same age my kids were when we moved to Berkeley). I invited her over for lunch and had the SAME thing you made me on our first lunch date.
I told her all about you and how you invited me over and how we are kindred spirits :)
Thanks for always being so inspiring...miss you!
Me and these gals go WAY back. I met them when we moved here the first time. Our oldest girls all went to preschool together!
Sounds like a great weekend, we'll have to have one in Portland soon!
but your American friends miss you! LOL
