I love family time! I am so so happy that it worked out for this last minute trip to Utah.

What did we do? Well, we shot BB's at Christmas ornaments.

We went sledding. Twice. My brother and his wife provided some great grub!

And a hundred other things that I couldn't possibly name them all. Let's just say memories were made. And that's why we came.

Funny Things to Remember this Week

After a lengthy discussion with Karsten about college and why it's so important and great, he readily agreed college sounds pretty great. Then I asked him what he was going to study when he went to college. Incredulously he said, "WHAT?! You have to STUDY?"
Karsten gave the prayer for the Christmas dinner. In it he said, "And thank you that everyone in the family was nice and no one got any coal."
When I asked Karsten if he had been good or bad, he replied both. When I asked him what he had done that was bad he immediately responded without pausing or thinking, "I hit and whined and cried and yelled and punched and kicked." When I asked him how he was good he said, "I said please and thank you." I can see why he might be worried.
Karsten was so worried on Christmas Eve about getting coal that he couldn't go to sleep. He finally decided to make the best of a given situation because he reported to Sierra, "It's ok. I want coal. It'll keep me warm."
"I hope I don't get in trouble at school today." (Karsten on his second day of kindergarten.)
"I was rude but I wasn't super rude. Super rude is if I killed Aspen. So can I play Wii?" Karsten (5)
