Stop Reading!

Can you imagine a parent actually uttering those words? Well, I wish I were just uttering them, but the volume is a little bit louder than that to be considered "utter". Skyla LOVES books. We go to the library and get a huge stack that I think will last her a couple weeks and a couple days later she's asking to go again. I can't keep up with her! We went to the library last week and found a whole new series that she hadn't read and got 10 books. Four days later she was done. So this is all good. The problem is she can't seem to get ready for school! I am getting ready to walk out the door and I look at her reading a book without her hair combed and no shoes on. I know part of it is my fault. I do love a good book. How many times has she seen me curled up with a good book oblivious to the world...

I was the same way when I was younger and I'm still that way. LOL I 'heart' books. I love the way they feel, I love the way the smell, I love the words, I love looking at them on my many bookshelves. My problem is I have to buy them because the have to mine. I can't just borrow them. I want to keep them forever. I have gotten better at buying at the used bookstore and I even let other people borrow my books. Let the poor girl read. It's good for the soul. LOL

My girls are the SAME! We have a rule, they aren't allowed to read before school with out permission, which I would gladly grant once they are all ready, but that never happens, so they still sneak books. I always know when it too quiet... :)

I am a bibliophile too, Christi! It's nice to know I have kindred out there! Mindy, please do share this new series you found. We need some fresh reading around our house!

There could be worse hobbies for her. Andrew is a good reader, but trying to get him to pick up a book is almost impossible.
