The Cowgirl and her cow dog Aspen
The Dead dog (missing in this picture is her best friend Adri - a Dead explorer. Get it - an explorer and her dog?)
Superman!
It was a weird Halloween. David and my costume did not arrive in time for our party, we didn't make it to a pumpkin patch (and barely found a pumpkin from Safeway!), I had a hard time reconciling the fact that my daughter wanted to be a dead dog (but I have to give her credit for making the entire costume from head to toe!) but I must say that today was a successful Halloween! The 2nd graders didn't throw up at my severed finger treat, we had our traditional Halloween pancakes for breakfast (in the shape of a bat, pumpkin, and witch) even though the kids had to be at school at 8:30, I made my dinner in a pumpkin, and the kids got so much candy they could hardly carry it home. Karsten's candy was literally falling out of his bucket it was so full. Success! We had fun trick or treating with the Dullum's and thoroughly enjoyed Marianna's homemade carmel apples after our hard work of walking around with the kids.
And yet at the end of the day am I left wondering, where are all the Almond Joys? Is that not a popular candy anymore?
Happy Halloween!

So cute!! How did Sierra come up with that idea?! She definitely has not been your girly girl, Sky is, though! :) Tell Sierra that I think her costume was very creative and that I can't believe that she did it ALL herself! (Tell her also that she needs to update her blog for me!) Two more questions, what were yours and David's costumes, and what do you make in a pumpkin? I love that!
Cute! I can't get over Karsten with dark hair. That's so funny. Dinner in a pumpkin, please share.
TOO CUTE! Happy Hallows Eve to ya!
Wow, Sierra's talented. All the costumes are impressive.
I have to admit I'm glad Halloween is over. We did have a fun one, but with an event each evening from Tues-Fri, I'm Halloweened out. (Also my house was already a mess and now it is coated in stickiness and candy wrappers.)
Such creative costumes. They kids look awesome. How on earth did Sierra get the idea to go as a dead dog? You've got to give that girl credit. She is wicked cool like that. LOL
Those are great costumes! What a fun halloween!
How did you make those fingers?? They look so real and gross, yet so good and fun :)
Impressive that Sierra made her own costume!
What a fun day! What was the dinner inside the pumpkin?
Your kids look adorable--even the dead dog. That must be a common theme this year--several kids in Andrew's school were dead something or others.
I remember the severed fingers from last year's party. Please remind me on how to make these disgusting little treats. And dinner in a pumpkin? Seriously, you and Marianna are pretty much 'becky-homecky Martha Stewart mormon style' (minus the prison part).
Mindy you are a great Halloween host! We loved the menu--pumpkin dinner, mummy dogs, eye balls and witches brew--all fabulous! I love that you are so into Halloween and that you make it so fun for everyone!!!
